Moldovans will spend up to 65% of their income on heating

Residents of Moldova will spend up to 65% of their income on electricity and gas bills this coming winter. President Maya Sandu spoke about it on Monday in an article published in Politico.

"During the last 12 months, the price of gas in our country has increased 7 times, and the price of electricity - 4 times. This winter, Moldovans will probably spend up to 65% of their income on heating rents," Sandu said.

In addition, she admitted that inflation of up to 35%, disruption of trade routes, and worsening investor sentiment would shrink Moldova's economy.
