Sweden intends to tighten its anti-terror legislation by amending the constitution. With this, the country meets Turkey in the dispute over the terms of NATO entry.
As the Swedish Parliament explained on November 9, the corresponding changes will allow "limiting the freedom of assembly of groups involved in terrorism."
It is expected that the vote on this issue will take place on November 16. If the deputies of the Riksdag support the necessary changes, the toughened version of the anti-terrorist legislation will enter into force on January 1, 2023, which has been in effect since July.
As the experts explain, in that case it will become easier in Sweden to initiate cases against the members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), banned in Turkey.
