President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky invited the leader of the "Likud" party, Benjamin Netanyahu, to Kyiv. Netanyahu's office reported that the leader of Ukraine called Netanyahu on Monday evening. After the conversation, Zelensky wrote on social networks that he discussed the "main aspects of relations between states" with Netanyahu.
"I think everyone understands what Ukraine emphasizes and what Israel emphasizes. I believe that we can significantly strengthen our states," Zelensky wrote.
"Yediot Ahronot" newspaper, citing anonymous Ukrainian officials, wrote that Zelensky asked Netanyahu to supply weapons to Ukraine.
The "Likud" party led by Netanyahu won the Israeli parliament (Knesset) elections, and its leader should form the country's government.
