According to Russian state media, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, announced, "318,000 people have been mobilized in Russia, of which 49,000 are already on combat duty."
Putin also emphasized the importance of evacuating the civilian population of Ukraine's annexed Kherson region from the "most dangerous areas."
"Now those living in Kherson should be removed from the zone of the most dangerous operations because the civilian population should not suffer from shelling or other offensive and counter-offensive actions," added Putin.
