On November 15, the French Senate will discuss a resolution proposing to impose sanctions on Azerbaijan, demanding the immediate withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from the territory of Armenia, respecting the cease-fire agreement of November 9, 2020, and supporting any initiative aimed at establishing a lasting peace between the two countries.
The senators also call for the immediate and unconditional release of all Armenian prisoners of war. "Condemn Azerbaijan's violations of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination of January 4, 1969, and demand the Azerbaijani authorities to fulfill international agreements and conventions to ensure the safety of the Armenian population and their rights to life," the resolution reads.
The resolution was presented by Bruno Retail, Christian Cambo, Elian Assas, Patrick Kanner, Hervé Marcel, and Gilbert-Luc Devinaz.
