Lavrov and Abdollahian discussed the current situation in the South Caucasus

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia noted that on November 2, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian. 

The parties exchanged ideas on regional issues, emphasizing the current situation in the Persian Gulf. The generality of the positions of Moscow and Tehran to overcome all existing contradictions by political and diplomatic means, taking into account the interests of the Middle Eastern states, was confirmed.

The harmfulness of the information campaign started by the Western media was emphasized, which may turn into tension and worsen the situation under the conditions of a complex international problem.

The heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs also touched on the development of the situation in the South Caucasus and several other issues of bilateral interest.
