Netanyahu's party wins the snap election

According to preliminary data, the "Likud" party of former Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu takes first place in Israel's extraordinary parliamentary elections, which took place on Tuesday, November 1. Referring to "exit polls," local TV channels reported that Netanyahu received 30-31 out of 120 seats in the Knesset.

The current Prime Minister Yair Lapid's "Yesh Atid" party is in second place, which receives 22-24 mandates. Next is Bezalel Smortich and Itamar Ben-Gvir's far-right "Religious Zionism" party, which will get about 14-15 seats in the parliament.

According to "DPA" agency, Netanyahu's right-wing religious camp has a majority in Israel's representative and legislative bodies. The political forces of this group can count on 61-62 parliamentary seats.
