Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro did not recognize his defeat in Sunday's elections. In his first public speech since his loss, he said the protests from his supporters resulted from "resentment and a sense of injustice" over the vote.
However, he did not dispute the election results. He authorized his chief of staff, Ciro Nogueira, to transfer power with representatives of newly elected President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
