"Iran will start the construction of the 7.2 km Kajaran tunnel in 2023. in spring". Iranian minister

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran announced exporting engineering and technical services from Iran to Armenia. They emphasized the full readiness of Iranian companies to develop transportation between the two countries and create a new transit corridor between Armenia and the Persian Gulf.

According to ISNA, Rostam Ghasemi met with RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan to discuss the prospects of development of cooperation between the two countries. At this meeting, it was decided that Iranian companies would cooperate with Armenia to construct tunnels, roads, and buildings. The two countries also agreed to complete and develop the North-South Corridor from the Nordoz border to Varzgan and Tabriz. The two countries decided to start the construction of the 7.2 km long Kajaran tunnel in Armenia by Iranian companies in the spring of 2023.

Considering that there are many construction projects in Armenia, which include roads, tunnels, and housing construction, it was decided that a group of professional builders from Iran would visit Armenia.

Ghasemi also added that they are interested in exporting engineering and technical services to Armenia. Iran is the fourth largest cement producer in the world and has also achieved success in steel production.
