Iran signed $6.5 billion contracts with Gazprom

Iran's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy, Mehdi Safari, announced the signing of several contracts with the Russian state corporation "Gazprom" with a total value of 6.5 billion dollars.

The contracts are part of a $40 billion framework agreement that the countries signed in the summer of 2022 during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Tehran.

It should be noted that last week the countries signed an agreement on the supply of 40 Iranian-made gas turbines to Russia. The value of the transaction was not disclosed, but it was noted that this is the largest export transaction in the recent history of Iran in the technology sector.
