Turkey believes Sweden is not making enough efforts to meet Ankara's demands to get the kingdom's agreement to join NATO. This was announced by Omer Celik, the spokesperson of the ruling Justice and Development Party of Turkey.
The announcement came shortly before Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristerson visited Turkey. He will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to "untie the knot" and get Turkey's final agreement on Sweden and Finland joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is also scheduled to travel to Ankara this week to meet with the Turkish president.
