Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili was not informed about the visit of her Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev to Tbilisi, and, contrary to her wish, the meeting of the two heads of state did not take place.
The president's office stated, "President Zurabishvili was not informed about the working visit of Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the president of a neighboring and friendly country, to Georgia. "Despite the desire and readiness of the President of Georgia, unfortunately, the meeting of the presidents, which is traditionally held during the visit of all the heads of state to the country, did not take place."
Earlier, we reported that Ilham Aliyev visited Georgia today and met with the country's Prime Minister, Irakli Gharibashvili.
