On Monday, at the beginning of the ministerial meeting in Luxembourg, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, announced that the foreign ministers of 27 EU countries intend to impose sanctions against Iran due to repression in the country. "A package of sanctions is on the table to support women in Iran; I am sure that they will be accepted," he said.
Borrell emphasized that the new sanctions only concern repressions; they have nothing to do with the news about the supply of drones by Russia and Iran to Moscow.
