Russian "Wagner" mercenaries continue their attack in the direction of Bakhmut. British intelligence

Russian forces have been carrying out a tactical offensive in the direction of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, for the last three days. This morning, a British military intelligence report said that parts of the Luhansk region's pro-Russian militia 2nd Army Corps appeared to have captured the settlements of Opitnoe and Ivangrad, south of the city.
Since the beginning of July, Russian regular or separatist forces have occupied almost no other settlements. However, the Russian private military company "Wagner Group" mercenaries" have achieved some success in Donbas. "Wagner" is still actively participating in military operations in the Bakhmut region.
Russia is likely to view the capture of Bakhmut as a prelude to an offensive against Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, the largest Ukrainian-controlled settlements in the Donetsk region.
