"Tehran is ready to be a mediator in the relations between Yerevan and Baku," said Ali Akbar Velayat, adviser on international affairs to the supreme leader of Iran, former foreign minister, answering the question of whether Iran is ready to mediate in the relations between neighboring Armenia and Azerbaijan. According to him, one of the most critical factors in establishing peace between countries is the preservation of the accepted historical borders.
"Any violation of the neighboring borders by any country causes an increase in tension in the region and incitement of local wars, the first result of which is the presence of provocateur countries, such as the USA and Israel, which use the advantageous situation for themselves under the pretext of establishing a ceasefire," hadded the former Iranian Foreign Minister.
