"Putin is a rational figure who made a complete miscalculation." Biden

"President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin is a rational politician who made a significant mistake when invading Ukraine." US President Joe Biden made such a statement in an interview with the "CNN" TV channel, parts of which were published on the evening of October 11.

"I think that he thought that he would be welcomed with open arms, that Kyiv is the mother of Russia, and that he would be welcomed here. I think he just completely miscalculated," Biden said in a conversation with journalist Jake Tepper.

Answering the question of whether he will meet with Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in Indonesia in November, Biden said that he does not see any serious reasons for the meeting. "It will depend on what exactly he wants to talk about," the head of the White House explained, adding that if the Russian president wants to discuss American basketball star Brittney Greiner, who is in a Russian prison, then he will be ready for a conversation. "But listen, he acted cruelly. I think he committed war crimes. And that's why I don't see the point of meeting him now," Biden added.
