Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Prague today as part of the summit of the European political community and will discuss with him the prospects of normalization of relations between the two countries. A source in Ankara's diplomatic circles said it would be their first face-to-face meeting.
"Face-to-face meetings are always more effective than telephone conversations. It fully refers to the upcoming negotiations between the President of Turkey and the Prime Minister of Armenia. In Prague, progress can be made regarding the settlement of relations between Ankara and Yerevan, as well as in preparing a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan," the source said.
The Sabah newspaper, referring to its sources, reported earlier that Erdogan intends to propose to Pashinyan that the meetings of the special representatives of the two countries on settlement issues be held successively in Turkey and Armenia and not in the territory of third countries. In addition, as was mentioned, he will come up with suggestions for reducing regional tensions and signing the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan as soon as possible.
