On Wednesday, European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen announced, "The gas storage facilities of the European Union are almost 90% full. This happened due to replacing the import of Russian gas with American and Norwegian gas".
The head of the EC noted that the share of Russian gas in European imports was 41% at the beginning of this year and decreased to 7.5%. "We were able to compensate for the decrease in Russian supplies at the expense of our reliable partners in the form of the USA and Norway," she said.
According to von der Leyen, European countries have reduced gas consumption by 10% since March. She called it a good result and called to continue the course.
