The government of Prime Minister Liz Truss has announced against the background of the energy crisis that it is ready to approve the granting of licenses for the exploitation of new gas fields in the North Sea. A decision on which new North Sea gas fields will receive commissions will be announced later this week.
North Sea fields produce enough gas to meet about 40% of the country's needs. However, according to forecasts, this indicator will decrease to 30% in 2030.
