TASS news agency reports that Pope Francis is saddened by the recent clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"The reports about the recent clashes between Azerbaijan and Armenia caused me a lot of pain. I express my spiritual closeness to the relatives of the victims and call on the parties to respect the ceasefire regime. Peace is possible when they put aside their weapons and engage in dialogue," Pope Francis said.
