The press service of the Kremlin reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Earlier, Russian president Dmitry Peskov announced that the conflict on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan would become the main topic of discussion between Putin and Aliyev at the SCO summit.
