France calls on Azerbaijan to return to the ceasefire between Baku and Yerevan

France calls on Azerbaijan to return to the ceasefire between Baku and Yerevan. This was announced on Tuesday, September 13, after the telephone conversation between the heads of state Emmanuel Macron and Ilham Aliyev at the Elysée Palace.

"In a telephone conversation with President Aliyev, President Macron emphasized the need to return to the observance of the ceasefire. Macron expressed his concern regarding the military operations on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan, which led to the bombing of Armenian settlements.

The President of France informed Aliyev about the need to urgently stop the military operations and return to the maintenance of the ceasefire regime. He insisted on the need to continue and intensify the negotiation efforts between Armenia and Azerbaijan and reminded us of his readiness to contribute to them with all partners, particularly the European Union," the statement said.
