The Russian Foreign Ministry responded to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border situation

The Russian Foreign Ministry responded to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border situation.

"We express extreme concern; we call on the parties to refrain from further escalation and to maintain the cease-fire regime. We are in close contact with Baku and Yerevan. The request of the Armenian leadership to support the settlement of the situation by the existing bilateral agreements and CSTO was received. We expect that the ceasefire agreement reached as a result of Russian mediation will be fully implemented from 9:00 Moscow time. "All controversial issues should be resolved exclusively through political and diplomatic means, and border issues should be resolved within the framework of the bilateral commission for the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, with the advisory support of Russia," said the Russian Foreign Ministry.
