Elizabeth II will be laid to rest at Edinburgh Cathedral

The coffin containing the remains of the United Kingdom's Queen Elizabeth II will be displayed at St Aegid's Cathedral in Edinburgh on Monday to give Scots a chance to say goodbye to the monarch.

A funeral procession will be held from the palace on the Royal Mile, along Edinburgh's central streets, to St Aegid's Cathedral on Monday afternoon. King Charles III, along with Queen Consort Camilla, will walk the hearse for about 1.2km and be greeted at the entrance by a guard of honor from the Royal Company, the ceremonial unit that guards the monarch. At that time, the Scottish crown, the oldest royal regalia of Great Britain from the 16th century, will be placed on the Queen's coffin.
