Germany will extend the operation of its two nuclear power plants until April 2023. This was announced today by the Minister of Economy of the country, Robert Havbek. According to him, two of the three remaining nuclear power plants near Germany (supposed to be closed by the end of this year) will continue to operate. However, the government does not abandon plans to close all nuclear power plants in the country.
They will be disconnected from the network but remain in standby mode to activate during a crisis.
Earlier it became known that Russia is not resuming the gas supply through the "North Stream-1" gas pipeline, explaining it for technical reasons. The German government will allocate 65 billion euros in compensation to residents for the sharp increase in electricity and heating tariffs.
