Liz Truss was elected the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Truss assumed the simultaneous positions of the leader of the Conservative Party and the Prime Minister. The voting results were announced live. Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom Truss won with 82,326 votes, to his opponent, former Finance minister Rishi Sunak - 60,399 votes.
