Reuters reported that an attempt was made to shoot the former president and current vice president of Argentina, Cristina Kirchner, but she was saved. The malicious person was arrested, but the motives of his action haven't been known yet.
The assassination attempt occurred on September 1 near the vice president's house in the Buenos Aires area when Kirchner was interacting with his supporters. A gunman from the crowd pointed a gun at Kirchner and pulled the trigger, but the weapon did not go off.
Security service officers arrested the attacker and confiscated the gun.
