Mikhail Gorbachev passed away

The Russian mass media report that Mikhail Gorbachev, the first and last president of the USSR, died at 91 after a long and severe illness.  

Gorbachev was elected the first and last president of the USSR in March 1990.

Mikhail Gorbachev was the president of the USSR from 1990-1991. He resigned his powers on December 25, 1991. The next day, the Soviet Union ceased to exist.

It is noted that Gorbachev will be buried in Novodevichy cemetery in Moscow, next to his wife.
