Russian peacekeepers will move from Lachin Corridor when the new road is ready. Embassy of the Russian Federation

On August 11, the State Agency of Motor Roads of Azerbaijan reported that the construction of the motor road on the new route of the Lachin Corridor had been completed, and the highway was ready for operation. On the other hand, the official Yerevan announced that the Armenian part would be finalized in May next year. According to Maksim Seleznyov, ambassador-consultant of the Russian Embassy in Yerevan, the Russian peacekeepers will move only when the new road is ready.
"Russian peacekeepers will not occupy a new corridor until it is operational, and there are agreements in this regard. The parties are in direct contact, and I assure you that the peacekeepers will not move a centimeter until there is a new corridor," Maxim Seleznyov said.
