Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad will visit Abkhazia. As reported by Abkhazia's Foreign Ministry, the Syrian delegation, which will be in Sukhum on August 24-27, includes the Syrian ambassador to Russia, Riad Haddad, the director of the European Department of the Syrian Foreign Ministry, Luai Falukh, and the director of the Executive Support Department, Abdullah Hallak.
The Syrian delegation plans to hold meetings with the President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bjaniya, and other officials.
On August 25, the meeting of the Foreign Minister of Syria with the Foreign Minister of Abkhazia Inal Ardzinba will take place. They will sign a "memorandum of understanding in the field of political consultations."
