The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, expressed his condolences regarding the explosion in the "Surmalu" shopping center. He made a note about this on his "Twitter" page, where he specifically wrote:
"Today, I join all Armenians in mourning for those who died due to the tragic explosion in Yerevan's "Surmalu" shopping center. My sincere condolences to the families who lost their relatives. I wish all the injured a speedy recovery."
