Styopa Safaryan, founder of the Armenian Institute for International and Security Affairs, wrote on his Facebook page:
“The Holy See is leading to a clash, and they will take a step on Sunday that will irritate the number of people participating in the liturgy and create tension. This may even take the form of changing the keys to the church or closing the doors, when N number of people, including the declared priest, are forbidden to enter or approach the altar.
The authorities are obliged to calculate all this if they have decided to participate in the announced liturgy in Hovhannavank at the level of the Prime Minister. There should be no clumsy manifestations inside and on the territory of the church”...
