They ate the head of Artsakh, and now they are after the head of Armenia. Melkumyan

Hrach Melkumyan, former head of the Yerevan bureau of Radio Liberty, wrote on his Facebook page:

"Have you counted how many months it has been since a soldier has died on the border? The hearts are itching, there is no peace, so what?

The false patriotic mass did everything against the peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict, they ate the head of Artsakh, and now they are after the head of Armenia.

Today's uprising in Agathe Massese is reminiscent of the period from late 2018 to mid-2019, when a real opportunity to resolve the Karabakh issue had opened up. Pashinyan had a significant vote of confidence from the people and could take that step without fear of losing his position.

Direct military contact was established between Yerevan and Baku, the ceasefire regime was maintained for a long time, there were no victims for more than half a year, but the number of "suicides" in Karabakh had sharply increased.

Many do not remember that period, do not want to remember, the tailor-journalists do not cut the words of the "patriots" of Karabakh and Armenia, they do not sew them together, because every day, every hour, centimeter by centimeter they were closing the opened door to the settlement of the conflict. Karabakh and Armenia had become a madhouse, as many political and street idiots were stonewalling the possibility of a settlement. In the meantime, Karabakh was selling itself near the elevator. The powerful were being turned against the political leadership, and the army was cut off from the authorities. As many officials, judges, and bureaucrats as there were remained clinging to their seats until the end, they kept the country in the garbage as much as they could; morons in black overalls were running around the streets inciting conflicts.

And all this was happening in a country in conflict, a conflict that, after 2016, was difficult to call anything but ongoing. You can't show a single quote, a single sentence, where it was said that Nikol should go for a settlement, we stand by you, and you can find hundreds, thousands of the opposite. He stood back, didn't sell Karabakh, wanted more for Karabakh, and in the end, we saw what happened. How stupid would the enemy be not to take advantage of the chaotic situation in Armenia, especially since he already had a clear military advantage?

Even if you are not an Azerbaijanist, haven't you followed their press, haven't you seen what ideas there were after the war, that several regions of Armenia should be captured and kept under occupation for 25-30 years, as a response and revenge for the Armenian occupation?

Please light a candle so that the Republic of Armenia remains within its recognized borders and gets the opportunity to normalize relations and develop.

In 2019, I was surprised by the Karabakh people and the parents of soldiers in the army who did not stand up and defend the peaceful settlement.

In 2026, I am surprised by the group of Armenians against peace and the parents of soldiers in the army again, because the alternative to peace is war, or local clashes, maintaining tension.

Today, no step back should be taken, no matter how much they gossip and discredit the demands of Azerbaijan and Turkey, as they are being met. If the government tries to avoid accusations, public observation groups can directly state that the defeated side always fulfills the demands of the winner; the opposite does not occur. Can the ARF, which signed the humiliating agreement of Alexandrapol, not meet the demands of the Turks? We need to look at the situation realistically; the issue of a second melon is not on the table.

"No matter what they say against peace, no matter how they dress up the accusations, there is no alternative to the final establishment of peace, the normalization of relations with neighbors, economic cooperation and trade, especially when the so-called ally is a vile traitor."
