Vahram Atanesyan, a former member of the Supreme Council of Armenia and the National Assembly of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, wrote on his Facebook page:
“Don’t be a hypocrite, ladies and gentlemen. None of you has felt a pang of remorse or a pang of pain from today’s statement by Nikol Pashinyan about Artsakh, nor have you felt a pang of helplessness. Be strong. To preserve Artsakh, we should have had the courage to set a red line not for “indispensable independence,” but for the right to live in our ancestral land. Instead of staging a “new Sardarapat,” we should have ignored the call to lower the bar on the status issue. Instead of carrying out a senseless change of power, we should have negotiated with Baku.
A Karabakh resident has a chilling saying: “I will take the stone to my heart, I will be silent.” Light and blessing to the graves of the martyrs. May the native mountains smoke incense for the repose of their souls.”
