The road to Armenia's independence passes through Turkey. Tatul Hakobyan

Journalist and publicist Tatul Hakobyan wrote on his Facebook page:

"I think that Azerbaijan has once again entered into negotiations with Armenia on the Western platform to show its teeth to Russia and deliver another message to Putin.

We, Armenia, should not expect any benefits from the Baku-Moscow confrontation.

We should work with Russia, taking constructive steps on our part. Russia is capable of destroying our economy until we diversify ours.

Azerbaijan will not sign a peace treaty with Armenia anyway. It may sign some interim document, but it will try to squeeze everything possible out of us as long as it feels that we have room to squeeze.

But even if an Armenian-Azerbaijani memorandum is signed, I will consider it an important step, because Turkey can open the border and establish diplomatic relations with Armenia.

"The path to Armenia's independence, as harsh as it may sound, passes through Turkey."
