Armen Galjyan, head of the "Civil Contract" faction of the Yerevan Council of Elders, wrote on his Facebook page:
"The so-called opposition circles fall into depression at those moments when something good happens in Armenia.
They need to talk about constant darkness, disaster, and oppression, because that is the only background against which their words "savior of the nation", "sacred", "liberator" can resonate.
And when people who want to protest in the square about anger go to a concert about life, it irritates them.
When people do not see a celebration but the presence of the state, it disrupts the opposition mechanism because they perceive politics as a constant tragedy, where they are the only savior.
Jennifer Lopez's concert demonstrated not only a cultural level, but also a social and psychological reality, as well as a tremendous economic and cognitive multiplier effect.
And those who are upset today that not even 5% of the people attending their "miracle rallies" come to the concert, it would be good to ask themselves - do they offer anything to the people? Fundamental ideas and a vision of the future, or pseudo-patriotic slogans and nothing concrete?
The real Armenia already exists. And either you will come to terms with it, or you will always remain on the margins."
