Arman Babajanyan, the chairman of the "For the Republic" party, wrote on his Facebook page:
"The 8th summit of the European Political Community to be held in Armenia in the spring of 2026 will be the most significant political and diplomatic event in the state's history, an expression of the re-design of independence and the establishment of a new foreign policy identity. The significance of this decision goes beyond the organizational and agenda framework: it establishes Armenia as a practical and equal part of the European civilizational space.
The European Political Community includes all European Union member states, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Balkan countries, and other partners. The President of France, the Chancellor of Germany, the Prime Minister of Italy, the Presidents of the European Council and the European Commission, the leaders of the Nordic and Baltic countries, the Secretaries General of NATO and the UN will arrive in Armenia to participate in the summit.
Armenia received the right to host the summit after it legally registered the start of its EU membership. This manifested political will and a strategic adjustment, redefining the country's foreign policy. At the same time, it froze all discussions about imaginary balances, revealing which value system is shaping Armenia's future today.
Azerbaijan spent billions of dollars organizing the COP29 world summit and was subjected to an international boycott. Armenia did not force anything, did not advertise, but earned trust. Europe chose Armenia not for resources but for values and will.
This event eliminates strategic ambiguities and establishes a new course. For the first time in history, Armenia has been involved in the center of systemic formats of European security, energy, digital cooperation, and economic integration.
This is not just a summit. It is an indelible mark on the map of world politics, with the name Armenia."
