Vahram Atanesyan, a former member of the Supreme Council of Armenia and member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, wrote on his Facebook page:
"A "ninth wave" of anger, protest, and sometimes even hatred has risen in the media and social media against the visit of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to Baku and the awarding of a church order to Mehriban Aliyeva.
As far as I can remember, no one was angry or complained when Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces Kim visited Baku on March 22, 2022. He had not yet returned to Moscow when the Azerbaijanis took possession of the Parukhin and part of the Karaglukh Heights. This is how the surrender of physical-geographical Artsakh began.
With Patriarch Kirill's visit to Baku, the surrender of spiritual-cultural-civilizational Artsakh begins. Three years ago, the Armenian authorities failed to prevent the surrender of "material" Artsakh. Today, the Armenian Apostolic Church, at least publicly in the sphere, does nothing to stop the surrender of spiritual-cultural-civilizational Artsakh. The ministers of the church regulate domestic political issues, overwhelmingly supporting the institutional opposition, which, by the way, inspires the possibility of returning Artsakh. But if spiritual-civilizational, Artsakh is also surrendered, what return or where will it return?
To solve any problem, it must first be understood. And we only scream in pain, and we do not want to find out what the pain is from. Like a patient who, according to a doctor's prescription, is supposed to undergo an MRI but turns to "herbal medicine for help."
