"Armenia and Azerbaijan must move towards the logic of peace."

Post by NA MP Arsen Torosyan:

Armenia and Azerbaijan must move from the logic of conflict to peace. Decades of tension and clashes, especially over Nagorno-Karabakh, have cost both peoples dearly, taking lives, destroying dreams, and undermining the future. This change is a foreign issue for Armenia and a question of internal unity: do we want to end this painful period?

The conflict has had serious consequences for our country. Economic difficulties and the emigration of more than a million people in recent decades have undermined our strength and opportunities for a prosperous life. However, peace can be the beginning of recovery, opening the doors to a better future.

The role of our Diaspora compatriots is also essential on this path. The Diaspora is an integral part of our people. Still, due to their distance, they often perceive the need for peace with Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey differently, not living the daily reality we face here. Yet, their support and voice can be essential in advancing dialogue. After all, a significant part of the Diaspora left Armenia precisely due to this conflict, and peace may also be the key to their return.
