Vahram Atanesyan, a former member of the Supreme Council of Armenia and the National Assembly of the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, wrote on his Facebook page:
“Heydar Aliyev made a proposal to exchange Meghri and incomplete Nagorno-Karabakh, and it was discussed and agreed upon in principle both in Yerevan and Stepanakert.
A few dozen, maybe more people knew.
The report of Radio Liberty may shock the public, young figures, experts, analysts, and journalists.
But do you know what is the most terrible thing? A month or a half after that “exchange was agreed,” there was “October 27” in Yerevan, and in December, the NKR Defense Army was disbanded in Stepanakert. On March 22, 2000, an assassination attempt against Arkady Ghukasyan took place (this is a record of what happened, not a legal assessment). In any case, his official car was shot at, the driver and the bodyguard were shot, and he received gunshot wounds.”
