Arman Babajanyan, chairman of the "For the Republic" party, wrote on his "Facebook" page:
"I am unspeakably excited and happy about the final result of the elections in Moldova, but I must admit that the issue of extending Maia Sandu's term of office for four years was decided by the dual citizen Moldovans who emigrated from the country, those who do not enlist, do not pay taxes, do not have any obligations and responsibilities towards Moldova.
It is incredible even to think how the millions of dual citizens of Armenia who voted for Trump in the USA and Putin in Russia would vote and what they would do with Armenia if they were allowed to participate in the nationwide voting of Armenia.
RA citizens in the diaspora were deprived of the right to vote. Kocharyan. The reason was the result of the RA presidential elections in Los Angeles 2003. Here, Stepan Demirchyan collected 93% of votes, crushingly defeating Robert Kocharyan, who is fighting for the second term of office. After the results were published, banning Armenian citizens abroad from voting in Armenia was put on the agenda. I can imagine how much Kocharyan regretted this decision of 2003.
Anyway, for the Armenian political forces, the question of voting by our dual citizen compatriots who are in the diaspora, mostly emigrated from Armenia, should become an agenda. Still, such a model should be chosen so that the diaspora, the voting of the diaspora, does not become a threat to the national security and existence of Armenia."
