Toyota today opened its new high-tech village in Japan, a test bed for autonomous living and other futuristic developments.
It will be a place where you can try out a range of inventions in real life, from flying taxis to home robots and drones.
Approximately 360 Toyota employees and other company-related personnel will soon relocate to the smart homes of the “Weaved City.”
“This is a test bed for the future, not just a village,” Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda said at the opening ceremony.
The number of residents in the houses built at the foot of Mount Fuji is expected to reach 2,000.
