Catastrophic accident: Starship 36 explodes during test

NASA reports that the Starship-36 heavy rocket carrier of American entrepreneur Elon Musk's SpaceX company exploded during static firing tests.

It is reported that during static firing tests at the Starbase test site in southern Texas, an intense first-stage explosion occurred, after which a serious fuel leak was recorded.

The videos show how the nose of the rocket suddenly opens, then a bright white light appears on the screen, and then the entire rocket site is engulfed in flames.

It is noted that this was the ninth test flight of the Starship. During the flight, on the way back, the device reformed and burned up upon re-entry into the atmosphere. The end of the flight was planned in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. About 30 minutes after the flight, contact was lost with the rocket, after which it began to rotate erratically.

Authorities have described the Starship-36 explosion as a "catastrophic accident."
