Nearly all Cybertrucks in the United States have been recalled. This is the eighth recall of the Tesla-made vehicles since they began shipping to consumers about a year ago.
According to a report by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall affected more than 46,000 cybertrucks. The cause is the outer panel of the car, located on the left and right sides of the windshield. It can break off while driving, posing a danger to other drivers and increasing the likelihood of an accident.
The report notes that this panel, a stainless steel part called the “cant rail assembly” installed between the windshield and the roof, is attached with adhesive. To fix the problem, Tesla will use a new adhesive that, according to NHTSA, is resistant to environmental influences and does not become brittle. In addition, additional reinforcements will be added.
Tesla will replace the panel free of charge. Owners will receive notification letters on May 19, 2025.
