Sunset on the Moon (VIDEO)

NASA and Firefly Aerospace released the final images of the Blue Ghost lunar probe at a press conference today. The photos were taken as the probe completed its mission and became a “monument” on the Moon.

The images show the sun setting over the Moon and lunar dust glistening in the sunlight. The last time the Apollo 17 astronauts saw such a spectacular sight was in 1972, over 50 years ago.

“Witness the setting of the Moon—this is our final gift from the Blue Ghost mission. As our mission ends, we are honored to share this spectacular glow of the lunar horizon with the world. The NASA team looks forward to further analysis of these images,” Firefly Aerospace wrote on its X social media page.
