AppleInsider reports that Apple plans to release a foldable smartphone in the next 2 years.
According to expert estimates, the first iPhone with a foldable display will cost at least $2,300. For comparison, the flagship iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at $1,200, and the most potent Apple Mac Studio computer starts at $2,000.
According to Barclays analyst Tim Long, a foldable smartphone includes expensive parts. At the same time, more advanced versions with larger memory capacity will cost several hundred dollars more.
The first foldable iPhone will be sold in late 2026 or early 2027. Apple Insider journalists say the cost of Apple's foldable smartphone will be too high compared to competing models. For example, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 leather device costs $1,100, the OnePlus Open $1,700, and the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold $1,800.
