SpaceNews reports, citing NASA, that the recently launched IM-2 mission will demonstrate the presence of useful resources on the moon.
NASA Deputy Administrator for Science Nikki Fox said: “We want to show that we can find resources that already exist on the moon for a permanent human presence.”
According to her, the landing site of Intuitive Machines’ Nova-C module (also known as Athena), the Mont Mouton plateau, is a strategic location because it is higher than the surrounding terrain and has craters with permanently shaded areas.
