Reuters reports that Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup xAI has unveiled its latest chatbot, Grok-3. It will compete with China’s DeepSeek, Microsoft-backed OpenAI, and Alphabet’s Google.
The launch of Grok-3 comes at a crucial stage in the race for AI. It comes just days after DeepSeek unveiled its powerful open-source model.
The chatbot will be available immediately to Premium+ subscribers of Musk’s social network X (formerly Twitter). xAI is also launching a new subscription plan, SuperGrok, for chatbot users via its mobile app and website Grok.com.
“Grok-3 is a new level in every way, surpassing its predecessor, Grok-2,” Musk said.
Gil Luria, CEO of D A Davidson, said:
“With the introduction of Grok-3, xAI is again at the forefront of the open-source large language model (LLM) race. It outperforms the current best models in several metrics, making xAI again a strong competitor.”
