According to reports from the Financial Times, Tesla could suffer from worsening relations between Washington and Beijing.
In May 2024, it was reported that Elon Musk's Tesla had received preliminary approval to launch a Full Self-Driving (FSD) autopilot in China. However, in mid-February of this year, FT sources reported that the deal could be delayed or canceled due to a new round of the trade war between the US and China. As is known, US President Donald Trump has been speaking harshly towards China.
It is noted that Tesla needs approval to launch Autopilot in China very much, as the company is significantly inferior to domestic electric car manufacturers that have such permission.
On February 11, Tesla shares fell by more than 6 percent due to the cooperation between BYD and DeepSeek. The Chinese manufacturer of electric cars will use DeepSeek technologies to improve autonomous driving functions.
