The AP reports that Jeff Bezos’s rocket company, Blue Origin, has given NASA a sneak peek at the moon’s gravity.
NASA wants to conduct short spaceflight experiments to iron out problems before sending a rover to the moon. The experiments include methods to protect future lunar rovers from lunar dust.
“Mimicking the moon’s gravity during spaceflight could speed up research at a much lower cost, and future missions could accurately simulate the gravity of Mars and other objects in the solar system,” Blue Origin CEO Dave Limp wrote on the X website.
The rocket landed as planned after a morning launch. The spacecraft carrying the tests parachuted back to Earth after a 10-minute flight.
